A huge congratulations to Liz and Katie on winning at the Blackpool NODA awards!
Best Artistic Direction In A Musical : Liz Ritson for Lucky Stiff
Best Supporting Actress In A Play : Katie Griffith as Mrs Frasier in Stepping Out
A Chorley theatre group is celebrating after winning 2 awards at a prestigous ceremony in Blackpool. The NODA awards celebrate the best amateur dramatic productions in the North West and CADOS walked away with two of the top prizes.
Katie Griffiths won Best Actress for her role as elderly Mrs Frazer in Stepping Out. Twenty-Four year old Katie aged sixty years for the comedy part, which saw her return to CADOS after studying at Oxford University. Despite her scene-stealing role, she was amazed to win and couldn't quite believe it at first.
Best Artistic Director was won by Liz Ritson for her work on the musical Lucky Stiff. This was one of CADOS's most ambitious productions so the award was well deserved for Liz's hard work. She is now working on an even bigger production, the Broadway musical Rent, which will be on in Chorley in October.
