Please note there will be a matinee
on both Saturdays plus a Sunday matinee on the
14th
but no Monday evening
performance (15th) this year due to the high demand
for matinee tickets!
The
CADOS pantomime is the highest grossing production we put
on each year so it is important that we keep the standard
at the high level our audiences have come to expect.
Full commitment is required from all cast members.
Rehearsals will commence on the 30th
September on Tuesdays and Thursdays plus Sundays for
Dancers till the week commencing the 27th
October and then all cast members will be expected to
attend Mon, Wed and Fridays (Sundays for Dancers) with
Sundays being added for everyone at the latter end of the
rehearsal period.
Principal
Auditions Sunday 21st
September 2008 11am registration for 11.30am start
If the
character you wish to audition for is required to sing then
please come prepared with sheet music to sing a song of
your choice on the day of audition. Females that are
auditioning for Cinderella and Males for Prince Charming
please prepare a ballad.
Dancers & Children Auditions Sunday
28th
September 2008 11am start
Please
come dressed appropriately to dance
We are looking for a group of male and female dancers that
have strong skills in ballet and jazz the ability to tap
would be an advantage.
We are also looking for a group of young school aged
children to perform in Act One only to act and dance
playing wood land animals etc there are some small speaking
parts also available. Dance skills and experience
performing on a stage is an advantage
PRINCIPAL
CHARACTERS
FAIRY
GODMOTHER –
Female comedy role, interacts with audience, strong diction
required.
DANDINI
–
Prince Charming’s best friend. Male role must be able to
act, sing and move well.*
PRINCE
CHARMING –
Dashing young male required with strong singing voice. Must
also be able to act and move well.*
KYLIE
AND MADONNA – THE UGLY SISTERS –
Traditional pantomime dames. Must be able to sing, act and
move well.*
BARON HARDUP -
Cinderella’s father, kind, well meaning but dominated by
the uglies!
BUTTONS
–
Big comedy role, must be able to build a rapport with
children. Good actor required with plenty of energy. The
ability to sing is an advantage but not essential.*
CINDERELLA
–
Title role. Young female 18+ Strong singing voice required
along with strong acting skills and the ability to dance.
Children have to fall in love with her! *
CHORUS
– There are various speaking roles that chorus members can
double up as such as Lord Chamberlain, Brokers, Footman,
The Mother etc All must be able to sing, act and dance.*
