There’s a new case for Sherlock Holmes in a thrilling new play at Chorley Little Theatre from 19th February.

After winning top awards for previous instalments theatre group CADOS are reviving the detective for another adventure, which sees Holmes tackle his trickiest case yet.

The Return of Sherlock Holmes is set in the modern-day and stars Dave Reid as the title character, with Siobhan Edge as Mrs Hudson and Bobby Walsh as Dr Watson. With writer/director Mark Jones the team won Best Play and Best Actor awards for productions in 2013 and 2015.

This new standalone play requires no knowledge of the previous stories, as Sherlock returns from a lengthy disappearance to unravel a web of intrigue that threatens to destroy the world. With assassins on his trail, can he crack the case before it’s too late?

Based on the books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the story is updated with modern technology and adult themes but keeps the spirit of the originals. The show is even endorsed by Sir Ian McKellen, who came to watch the last one.

Director Mark Jones describes it as “Conan Doyle meets Quentin Tarantino” and promises the show is accessible for newcomers and previous audiences alike. “Our Sherlock Holmes is easily recognisable from other depictions, and Dave does a brilliant job of balancing the aspects of this complex character.”

The production runs 19th to 24th February at 7.30pm at Chorley Little Theatre. Tickets available from Malcolm’s Musicland or online.

We are delighted that CADOS and Chorley Youth Theatre have been nominated for 28 awards between them at this year's NODA Awards. The awards recognise shows performed between January and December 2017 and winners will be announced on 3rd February.

We have been shortlisted by Aviva community fund for funding, and we need your help!

We want to refurbish and improve the entrance to the building: replace the front doors, add some chairs and waiting space, and make the floor smoother and more accessible. We also want to restore the stained glass EMPIRE sign (from 1910) and generally make the front more welcoming. Please vote for us and help us achieve this. Thanks!

We've spent over £150,000 on refurbishment in the last few months and still have more to go but we couldn't have done it without the support of loads of backers: from anonymous donors to the hundreds who backed our crowdfunder campaign. We want to say a really big THANK YOU. It is so much appreciated. We'll get the Wall of Fame of crowdfunder backers on here soon, but we've been so busy lately we've fallen behind a bit. Right now we'd also like to thank #YourPintCan: In May 2017 Carling launched a nationwide campaign in partnership with Wetherspoon, to improve communities by supporting local projects, nominated by their own customers. Pubs sit at the heart of our communities and Your Pint Can Help the Community is all about partnering with our favourite locals to fund projects which mean something to the people who live in the area. For example, Your Pint Can... fund a new football pitch, mend that broken wall or paint the village hall. The potential list is endless, as long as it will have a lasting and genuine benefit to the community. From 22nd May 2017 to 31st July customers simply had to buy a pint of Carling in their local Wetherspoon, then visit to nominate a local project. To see more updates visit:
