CADOS are very pleased to announce they've received a grant of £1000 from the Co-Operative Group Limited. The supermarket chain raised more money than expected in the last year, and offered the surplus to various charities and good causes across the country.

CADOS Chairman Ian Robinson says "We're delighted to be among the chosen causes, and the money will go to good use. Despite all the money we've spent in the last 18 months, there's still lots to do and every penny counts."

A spending review by the CADOS Committee has highlighted areas that still need work, but this money will go towards the costs of the Rehearsal/Youth Room. This new space was created by the recent building work but needs cabinets, flooring and a ceiling to make it usable.

Ian says "The public don't always see how squeezed we are and this room will give us more storage and room to rehearse. In time, it will enable us to put on bigger and better shows, and hopefully sneak a few more productions in a season."

Other areas highlighted by the group for work are the Foyer (including the "Empire" sign), a new box office system, refurbishment of the wardrobe department, and various finishing touches around the building (such as painting the outside of the back section). Longer-term there are plans for new toilets and maybe a change to the auditorium.

The new "Chorley Little Theatre" sign has been been kindly donated by Poppy Signs and will be going up soon. Keep watching Dole Lane!
