LAST TANGO IN WHITBY
The fourth play of the 2018 Season.
A comedy written by Mike Harding
Directed by Kath Ashworth and Jackie Green
It’s the the annual pensioner’s coach trip to Whitby, and things are stirring.
For recently-widowed Pat, this year’s visit to Yorkshire is tinged with sadness but she is determined to enjoy herself with her good friends and plenty of dancing. When they arrive at the hotel, they discover the entertainment is provided by Phil and Edna, a couple trapped in a loveless marriage. Then during their first dance together Phil and Pat feel the unexpected spark of mutual attraction.
Despite disapproval from others, they decide to seize this second chance and start a new life together.
A very funny play about love in dance class from popular Northern folk singer and storyteller Mike Harding, full of comic moments as the group of 12 experience their week on the Yorkshire coast. Full of pathos and playfulness, this is Harding at his best.
From this year a CADOS season will match the calendar year, running Jan/Feb until December. This brings us in line with NODA, and it also means Season Tickets will make great Christmas presents!
